Academic events of June and July 2016, Department of English, MKBU

Hello readers,

           In this blog I have shared some memories of academic as well as nonacademic events of department of English which we have celebrated in the month of June and July, 2016.

 

1)   International Yoga day celebration : 21^st June, 2016

            

           June is the starting month of the department and from many years students start their academic year with the celebration of International Yoga day on 21^st June. Early morning we all gathered on the terrace of department and under the instructions of Vaidehi Hariyani and demonstration by Dr. Dilip Barad we have practiced yoga.

2)   First library visit of semester 3 students: 15^th July, 2016

           

         After the conformation of new leaders of various ten committees, the head of library committee has organized a Central Library visit and students have issued books of literature and their interests.

3)   First daily Schedule of Semester 1 students: 18^th July, 2016

         

        18^th July was the first day of Semester 1 students and semester 3 students have introduced them with the daily schedule of department.

4)   Guru Purnima: 19^th July, 2016

       

        Guru Purnima was the first celebration which both semesters have celebrated together. New students have participated enthusiastically and performed well. Dr. Dilip Barad has shared his views about Guru in contemporary time.

5)   Introductory session of Committees: 25^th July, 2016

       

        There are ten committees in department and new students (semester 1) have to be the member of any one of those committee. Leaders of all the committees have given an introduction about their committee and encouraged students to participate in committee works.

6)   Talk on Spirituality and nature: 27^th July, 2016

      

        This was the last event of July. Members of “Swadhyay parivar” Vinodbhai Saliya and Maheshbhai Danger have visited department to discuss the connection of nature with spirituality. It was an interactive session and students were showing their curiosity by asking question related spiritual power and natural elements of it.

Introductory blog of The Documentation Committee 2016

Hello Readers,

   

     This blog has created with the purpose of sharing work and  information regarding Documentation Committee of Smt. S. B. Gardi Department of English, Maharaja Krishnakumarsinhji Bhavnagar University.

Committees of Department of English:

         

    We have ten different committees which take care of academic as well as non-academic events. Each committee contains one leader to guide the members for betterment of events, the leaders are from seniors and juniors can be the member of committee.

Here I have mentioned the names of Committees with their leaders. 

1)      Documentation Committee - Yesha Bhatt

4)      Gardening Committee -  Veer Bathavar

5)      ICT Committee – Chintavan Bhungani

6)      Bulletin Board Committee – Monali Jethwa

7)      Art and Creativity Committee – Binaba Gohil

8)      Celebration Committee - Jayati Thakar

9)      Photocopy Committee – Asha Dodiya

10)   Account management Committee – Meghna Dodiya

Introduction of Documentation committee:

      

       Documentation committee is connected with every committee of department; it collects the documents of various events from all committees and prepares report for each event at the end of the academic year, this committee works upon the documentation of students academic as well as co-curricular activities. This committee deals with the records of student’s participation in the given tasks, the expert visits at department, guest lectures and foreign visitors.

“Documentation is an important aspect of accountability which not only provides a record of the work being done but also recognizes efforts and reinforces the system”

      

     Students of Department of English are doing this work of documentation from so many years and every year new committee leader takes the responsibility so the new students can learn and the next batches of students can observe the work which has done by former students.
