Screening of short film "We Can"
with team of film makers: 3rd August, 2016
The film screening was organized by Alpa
Ponda. She
has played a significant role in the film. There was a healthy interaction
between students and film makers - actors.

Welcome Function: 6th August, 2016
On 6th August we have celebrated Welcome party in our Department. It was organized for new students. It was not only a welcome function but there was also an inauguration of Reading room. Shailesh Zala (Vice chancellor of MK Bhavnagar University), Prof. Vinod Joshi (Head of Gujarati dept.) and Prof. Dilip Barad (Head of English dept.) have inaugurated the reading room.

Flag hoisting and Film screening - Ketan
Mehta's “Sardar”: 15th August, 2016
On 15th
August we have celebrated ‘azadi70’. First we have attended flag hoisting at
administrative building of MK Bhavnagar University and after that Prof. Dilip
Barad has organized a film screening of – “Sardar” at Department of English.

Screening of Documentary “Rivers and Tides”:
22nd August, 2016
On 22nd August there was a screening
of Documentary “Rivers and Tides” – Andy Goldsworthy. It was arranged by Prof.
Dilip Barad.

Guest Lectures of Prof. Balaji Rangnathan on
Postcolonial studies: from 23rd Aug to 25th Aug.
Dr. Dilip Barad has organized
three days session on postcolonial studies and we got a chance to attend
lectures of Prof. Balaji Rangnathan from Central University of Gujarat.

Street play “Suni raahe thamti bahen”: 31st
August
“Suni rahen thamti bahen” was a morality play organized by Swadhyay
Parivar. Students of Gujarati and English Department have enjoyed the play.
